i have had an extremely interesting psychology lecture today

we were talking about psychological disorders

u will never know

how amazing our brain is!

okie

let's define psychological disorder:

any pattern of behavior that causes people significant distress, causes them to harm others, or harm their ability to function in daily life.

one of the most interesting psychological disorders that really make me feel WOW

is DISSOCIATIVE IDENTITY DISORDER (it's also called MULTIPLE PERSONALITY DISORDER)

well

in our normal life

some of us maybe say that

'oops, i think that guy is having multiple personality disorder, his behavior is totally different at home and school.'

hmm

yaa

we used to say that someone has split personality

because of his/her different behavior in some particular places

but actually

this is DEFINITELY WRONGGGG

according to the past researches

a person who suffers from DISSOCIATIVE IDENTITY DISORDER is actually creating another character to avoid himself/herself from disaster

the disaster here means some unacceptable incident like sexual abuse, being bullied etc etc..

for example

jenny was sexually abused by her neighbour when she was five years old

she was so afraid of being sexually abused again

she started to create a character called jane unconsciously

so whenever her devil neighbour came close to her and did the same things to her again

she would change to jane unconsciously

that's mean jane is the one who suffers and being abused but not jenny

so

after jane change back to jenny

jenny would not feel any unhappy or fierce

nothing happened to her at all

the interesting part is

people who has DISSOCIATIVE IDENTITY DISORDER can create many characters instead of only one

go back to jenny

when she was in primary school

she was bullied by someone

unconsciously, she would create another character called george

george was strong and able to protect 'himself'

see, although jenny is a girl but she created a male character who can protect her from being bullied

interesting yaa?

that means the characters who are being created can own different ability even the origin person doesn't own it

there was a case that talking about a patient

he was an ENGLISH

he created a character who was RUSSIAN

and the RUSSIAN could speak very fluently russian

the point is, the patient never step out from england before

and he never learned russian before at all!!

amazing huh??

according to researches

this disorder is happened UNCONSCIOUSLY

it means that u will never know what is going on!!

i know that it's a bit confusing

but no worry

just to share what i have learned

and i think we should know something about it

so guys and girls

stop saying ur friends have split personality
